August 22, 2023
On 4 July, a special delegation representing the Medical Skills Education and Innovation Centre departed Pecs en route to Blaubeuren, Germany, to attend and present at the Sixth Combat Medical Care Conference 2023, 5-6 July 2023.
The Combat Medical Care Conference 2023 is an International symposium on Tactical Combat Casualty Care in military and law enforcement missions for medics, EMTs, paramedics, nurses and physicians.
The entourage consisted of the following:
- Dr. Zsuzsa Németh, Emergency Physician and multimedia oral presenter
- Dr. Marton Rozanovic, Anesthesiologist and poster presenter
- Mr. Peter Szűcs, Management Consultant
- Research Assistant and Course Instructor Vivien Vincze, multimedia oral presenter
- Ms. Fruzsina Abuczki, Executive Assistant
- Mr. Attila Péntek, 3D Printing and Visualization Centre
- Mr. Roland Told, 3D Printing and Visualization Centre
The CMC Conference’s 2023 emphasizes the need for acute awareness in reference to the shifting current geopolitical turf and address and show case the advancements regarding Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) principles.
Additionally, recent lessons learned and field experiences regarding both former and ongoing areas of operation were presented and discussed.
The advent of new technologies and advances in scientific research, specifically, the aspect of Simulated Combat Scenarios, were also highlighted.
Distinctively, a comprehensive presentation in reference to technology, materials and the impact of environmental and human resources were aptly demonstrated, exhibited in both indoor and outdoor labs.
Additionally, a large, roomy exhibition hall exclusively emphasized “Tactical Medicine.”
The two-day conference’s resonating underlying theme concludes, “in respect to the effective and immediate treatment of our wounded, it is paramount: “all in or not at all.”
It was estimated, including Hungary, 36 countries in total attended this summer’s conference, including 1300 participants spanning over thirty nations. Vendors and Combat Medical Care experts displayed advances in Simulated Patient development.
Due to the success of these early conferences, despite the COVID-19 pandemic, miraculously, conference organizers went virtual in 2021.
Research Assistant and Course Instructor Vivien Vincze commented to news journalists immediately following her presentation, “My colleges confided to me, it all went fine and the audience expressed genuine interest, judging by their facial expressions! The presentation was aptly delivered, much the way it was planned and inevitably authorized by Szilard. I enjoyed it. I may have felt slight jitters but I came off confident!”
This year marks its sixth time hosting the Europe-wide conference dating back to 2014, in which the organizers and visionaries sought out a means to usher on stage, by booth or kiosk.
Following the immense success of the 1st Paris SOF CMC-Conference (a satellite Conference originating from the CMC Conference, dedicated to SOF Medical Personnel), conference organizers are thrilled to announce the renowned European-wide event will return on-site, however, moved to a new venue.

The Medical Skills Education and Innovation Centre’s Senior Leadership strategically determined the dividend in sending representatives to Blaubeuren, Germany, in which three amongst the entourage served as presenters.
During their After Action Briefs submitted before Senior Leadership immediately upon their return, our “away team” discussed “lessons learned,” highlighted strengths, and identified areas of weakness, now the subject of planned reinforced training.
Undoubtedly, our respected colleagues made a memorable impact upon the conference attendees and its vendors. It is expected their efforts increased levels of professional networking will soon gain a foothold while the positive global exposure serves to illuminate the professional arena quickly developing in the newly, ongoing renovation of the Medical School’s uniquely exclusive, Medical Skills Education and Innovation Centre.
MediSkills Founding sponsorship, Grant #TKP2021-NVA-06, was implemented with the support provided from the National Research, Development and Innovation Fund of Hungary, financed under the TKP2021-NVA funding scheme.
