More Institutes and Clinics Collaborate with Demonstrators at the University of Pécs Medical School

November 24, 2025

The Circle of Demonstrators (DDK) held its autumn general assembly on 18 November in the new theoretical education building of the Medical School in Pécs. The event saw a high turnout of mentors, students, lecturers and demonstrators, who reviewed the achievements of the first half of the academic year and discussed upcoming tasks.

The assembly was opened by Dr. Andrea Tamás, President of the DDK, who presented the latest developments and future directions of the organization. She highlighted that interest in demonstrator activities remains strong, with many new students joining the programme this semester, and an increasing number of departments, institutes and clinics actively collaborating with demonstrators.

Dr. László Czopf, Vice Dean for Education, introduced the semester requirements of the “Demonstrator Activity” course. He emphasized the importance of deadlines, accurate administration, and reminded participants that course assessment continues to be based on mentor feedback and documented demonstrator activity.

One of the key elements of the assembly was the election of the new student leadership of the DDK, with three positions becoming available. Following brief introductions, the candidates – Nikolett Légrádi, Máté Szabó and Laura Sulics – gained the trust of the community and became new members of the student presidency.

It was also announced that applications for the DDK Scholarship will open in February 2026.

The increasingly active workshop programme was presented as well: in the 2025/26 academic year, several demonstrator-led or demonstrator-supported workshops were organized, including the 10th Internal Medicine Workshop, the “DEEP Dive!” anatomy–surgery course, the Pathophysiador workshop, and the pathophysiology ECG workshop.

Due to the growing number of events, the DDK will introduce a new “Workshop Support System” starting in 2026, ensuring unified administration, visual identity and transparent financial support.

International activities were also discussed, including the AMSE 2025 conference in Olomouc, Czech Republic, presented by board member Dr. Míra Zsófia Peresztegi. Experiences from the 10th Internal Medicine Workshop were shared, and senior demonstrators Joori Park and Thea A. Thoresen spoke about their participation in the new “DEEP Dive!” workshop, jointly organized by the Department of Anatomy and the UP MS Surgical Society.

The general assembly concluded with a Q&A session moderated by Dr. Kristóf Filipánits and Dr. Andrea Tamás.
